Lacquer: three coats, two clear, your colour.

Every RAL on the card, matte 5% to gloss 90%, cured at 60°C for 45 minutes - a painted sample ships with your first quote, so you approve the real colour, not a screen.

Matte black lacquered island run with oak worktop, real Australian installation

Why lacquer

A painted door is only as good as its cure.

Most painted fronts fail at the edges: the colour chatters, the matte goes flat-spot, the clear coat lifts after a year of kitchen heat. Our schedule - three colour coats, two clear coats, each flash-dried, then a 60°C × 45 minute oven cure - is what keeps the finish level at the 1.5 mm reveal.

And because the colour is ours to mix, "close to the swatch" isn't an option. You name the RAL, we match it, and a painted sample of your actual colour ships with the first quote.

The schedule

Five steps, in order.

Match

RAL or a physical reference - we mix to it before anything is cut.

Prime

Seal coat over the substrate, sanded flat; the base the colour sits on.

Colour

Three coats, each flash-dried, levelled by hand at the last pass.

Cure

60°C × 45 minutes in the oven. This step is what you can't fake.

Clear

Two clear coats for the gloss spec, one UV top for the mattes.

Cure is the difference between a painted box and a lacquered front: it cross-links the film so it takes heat, steam and daily knocks. Skipped or underdone, and the matte goes flat-spot within a year.

The wall

Twenty-four house colours, before we ever mix yours.

The standard card below covers what we ship most. Anything on the RAL card is a sample-with-quote colour - the painted panel arrives with the first quote so you approve the real thing.

Flat slab

No profile, no hardware - push-open fronts on the aluminium frame, 1.5 mm reveal.

FAQ

Lacquer, in plain answers.

Can you match any RAL or a physical reference?
Yes. Send the RAL number or a physical reference and we mix to it. A painted sample of your actual colour ships with the first quote, so what you approve is what gets built - no "close enough" at install.
Matte or gloss - which ages better in a kitchen?
Matte 5-15% hides handling marks and flat-spots best; gloss 90% is the statement finish and shows more. Both are oven-cured the same way. For a busy kitchen the matte is the safer daily finish; the gloss is the feature-wall finish.
Will two rooms painted in the same RAL match?
If they're in the same finish batch, yes - that's why we build whole-home programs in one batch. If a room is added years later, the colour is re-matched to your retained sample; the schedule is the same, so the result holds. Keep one sample panel per colour.
How much extra does painted cost over MFC?
Lacquer runs are quoted per spec on your drawings - the number lands with the 3D layout. The step up over matte MFC is real (three colour coats, two clear, an oven cure) but it's a per-door delta, not a per-room premium, so a painted feature wall is a small move.
What's the lead time on a painted run?
Cure adds time inside the same window: lacquered runs land toward the longer end of the 10-14 day factory lead. Door-to-door DDP is 18-22 days to the US West, 32-40 to the US East, 15-20 to Sydney.
