Tool · Cost estimate
Kitchen cabinet cost calculator.
Estimate what your cabinets will cost by linear feet and build tier - using published 2026 industry price ranges. It is a budgeting band, not a quote: adjust the inputs and watch the number move.
Step 1 · Your kitchen
Run the numbers.
Everything is in US dollars and linear feet. If you do not know your linear feet yet, a 10×10 kitchen is about 20; measure wall-to-wall along the runs.

What cabinets cost per linear foot (2026).
These are published industry ranges, not our prices. We quote made-to-order runs individually.
| Tier | Cost per linear foot | What it usually means |

What moves the number
Six things that change your total.
- Linear feetthe single biggest lever - everything scales with the run
- Tierstock → RTA → semi-custom → custom roughly doubles each step
- Box constructionplywood vs particleboard; plywood holds screws and moisture better
- Doors & finishdoor style, paint vs veneer vs lacquer, fluted or flat panels
- Hardwaresoft-close, pull-outs, integrated lighting
- Assembly & installflat-pack you assemble, or pre-assembled + installed on site

What the estimate does - and does not - include.
Includes: cabinet boxes and doors at your chosen tier, at a per-linear-foot industry rate, with optional pre-assembly and installation labour.
Does not include: countertops, sinks and faucets, appliances, backsplash, plumbing or electrical, demolition, permits, sales tax, or freight and import duty unless you are comparing a duty-paid (DDP) quote. Import duty on Chinese cabinetry is currently around 25% and scheduled to rise - which is why the fair import comparison is the landed number, not the factory price.
If you are weighing formats, start with custom vs RTA and flat-pack vs assembled. For a worked example of the per-foot method, see how cabinet cost per linear foot works.
FAQ
Cabinet cost questions.
How much do kitchen cabinets cost per linear foot?
As a cabinets-only range in 2026: stock about $100 - $300 per linear foot, value RTA about $150 - $250, semi-custom about $200 - $800, and fully custom roughly $500 - $1,200 per linear foot installed. The spread comes from box construction, door style, finish, and whether you assemble or install yourself.
What is a 10x10 kitchen and what does it cost?
A 10x10 kitchen is a pricing benchmark: an L-shaped run 10 feet by 10 feet, about 20 linear feet of cabinetry. Multiply that by your tier rate for a first figure - e.g. 20 linear feet at a value RTA rate lands in the low-to-mid thousands before assembly and installation.
Does the estimate include installation?
Not by default - the base figure is cabinets only. Tick the installation box to add labour; installation commonly runs about $50 - $100 per linear foot, and full-kitchen installation labour averages several thousand dollars on its own.
Are imported cabinets cheaper than domestic?
Imported (China-made) runs typically land lower than comparable domestic fabrication, but compare the landed, duty-paid number - not the factory price. Import duty on Chinese cabinetry is around 25% and scheduled to rise, so always put a DDP landed figure next to a domestic quote.
What raises cabinet cost the most?
In order: total linear feet, the tier, box construction (plywood vs particleboard), door style and finish, hardware such as soft-close and pull-outs, then assembly and installation. Moving one tier up usually moves the number more than any single option.

Importing into Canada adds two lines this calculator does not carry: the 25% safeguard surtax and a provincial sales tax that runs from 5% to 15%. The Canada version layers both on top of the same per-foot basis.
