Home / Sourcing & QC / Cabinet importers

For the trade

The cabinet importer's side of the order.

You take the customer, the deposit risk and the after-sales. The factory side runs on a written production slot, 10-14 days of production, QC photo gates at 24, 48 and 72 hours, and five documents per container - so the second order behaves like the first.

The written side

What a cabinet importer holds the factory to.

Every row is published on this site already; the table is the version that fits on one screen.

NumberWhat it covers
24 hours3D layout and per-linear-foot quote from a floor plan
Written slotProduction slot confirmed in writing before the 40% deposit - in the contract, not the chat log
10-14 daysFactory production across ten stages, trial assembly at the 72-hour gate (12-16 days closets)
24 / 48 / 72 hQC photo gates, attached to the payment milestones
98%On-time delivery, factory record
1,500 sq ftMixed orders from kitchens, vanities and closets count toward the same container; no minimum at the sample stage
48 hoursDamage window from the delivery date, written into the contract

Before the first container

The five documents, then the deposit.

  1. The formaldehyde report - 18mm E0 plywood at or under 0.05 mg/m³ (GB/T 39600, report SQ2405393), with issuing body and expiry; CARB Phase 2 on the board line, cert on request.
  2. The commercial invoice - the entered value the duty layers are assessed against.
  3. The packing list - crate by crate, for the broker and for your own cube arithmetic; every box numbered to the bay or the room.
  4. The bill of lading - the order number on the crate.
  5. The certificate of origin - the declaration for the goods as shipped, matching the invoice and the packing list.

The four documents that travel with the container are the invoice, the crate-by-crate packing list, the bill of lading and the certificate of origin; the report leads them. The full set is written out on the US page.

US imports, dated

The 2026 duty stack on one container.

Four layers, each on the same entered value - dated on the US page because the dates are the point:

  • Base MFN rateon your cabinet code - confirm the code and the material with your broker
  • Section 23225% on finished wooden kitchen cabinets and parts, while the scheduled step to 50% is deferred (Oct 2026)
  • Section 30125% on China (List 3); the 2026 forced-labour tranche is exempt for cabinets
  • AD/CVDassessed by exporter - near 19.5% combined for a separate-rate exporter, 251.64% at the all-country rate

The worked 40HQ landed-cost table and the current dates live on the US page; the port-side question - DDP or FOB - is on DDP vs FOB.

Your name on the crate

Private label, without a second factory.

For a cabinet importer running private label, the entry point is OEM / ODM: quoted per linear foot by quantity tier, with packaging and labeling inside the line items. After the 40% deposit you receive your branded 2D and 3D drawings, the production list and the contract; delivery runs on the same 10-14 day factory time as your own-brand order.

FAQ

Importer questions, answered.

Who is this page for?
Cabinet importers, trade buyers and wholesale partners who resell kitchens, vanities and closets and want the factory side documented: the slot letter, the photo gates, the packing list. If you build for an end client, the contractor page is written for that paperwork.
Is there a minimum order?
Mixed orders from kitchens, vanities and closets start at 1,500 square feet of cabinet footage, and there is no minimum at the sample stage - a painted door sample ships with your first quote.
How do we follow production before the container ships?
QC photo gates at 24, 48 and 72 hours, with trial assembly at the 72-hour gate. The 48-hour damage window runs from your delivery date, and the packing list identifies any affected part to the bay or the room.
Which trade terms do you run?
DDP duty-paid to door - 18-22 days to a US West Coast door, 32-40 to the East, 15-20 to Sydney - or FOB and EXW where you run the port side, with the HS code and the duty rate on the quote and a broker we can recommend.
What documents travel with the container?
The commercial invoice, the crate-by-crate packing list, the bill of lading and the certificate of origin. The formaldehyde report - 18mm E0 plywood, GB/T 39600, report SQ2405393, with issuing body and expiry - is delivered before the first container.
Can we sell the cabinets under our own brand?
Yes - the OEM/ODM line runs your brand: after the 40% deposit you receive your branded 2D and 3D drawings, the production list and the contract, with packaging and labeling inside the line items.

Start with the importer pack.

Floor plan in, 3D layout and per-linear-foot quote within 24 hours; the written slot and the five documents follow on the same file.
